As a family-run business with its head office in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Gebr. Pfeiffer has pioneered the development of modern grinding, separating, drying, slaking and calcining technologies for more than 150 years.
Our experience and high engineering competence make us a leading company among the manufacturers of mills and equipment for the preparation of materials. Our consulting and service skills along with the high quality and reliability of our products are in demand all over the world. This is also rooted in our consequent orientation to our customers' individual requirements and our international presence.
The company, headquartered in Kaiserslautern, has its own workshop with foundry and employs more than 500 staff worldwide. Subsidiaries in India, China, Brazil, Egypt, Malaysia, Russia and the United States as well as an extensive network of co-operations, representations and a selection of highly experienced service partners ensure proximity to its international customers.
To this day, Pfeiffer has supplied more than 2200 vertical mills for coal and pet coke grinding to diverse industrial sectors. Among them the world's largest coal mill (100 t/h), which produces in Indonesia. Grinding, separation and drying are carried out inside the mill, whereby coal with a surface moisture of up to 35 % can be processed. These mills can also be operated inertly. The grinding principle and the highly efficient classifier ensure low electric energy consumption.
The MVR 6700 C-6, the biggest vertical mill in the world, operates in Brazil since 2016. LafargeHolcim, one of the global players in the cement industry, ordered this mill which can produce 450 tph slag cement with a fineness of 4,300 cm²/g acc. to Blaine. This tremendous output is possible due to the total drive power of 11,500 kW which is made possible by the MultiDrive® the unique drive system, the ultimate protection against failure and for such high output.
Ready2grind, the world’s first modular system utilizing a vertical roller cement mill, is a solution for producers seeking to reduce start-up times and initial investment costs. Apart from grinding clinker and cement raw materials the ready2grind modular system can also be tailored for grinding limestone, slag and pozzolana. 2017, the first ready2grind was installed within 2 months in Kenia; more than 10 orders followed in the meantime.
